Deep tissue massage is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue . This technique involves the therapist using knuckles , elbows, firm pressure and slow gliding stokes to reach deeper in the muscles and fascia ( the connective tissue surround muscles). Deep tissue can be helpful for athletes who are considerably hard on their bodies, those who are undergoing physical therapy to help aid them in the breakdown of scar tissue , and anyone who has dense tissue can benefit .  Sports Massage is designed for those who  are physically active.
