The top strangest casinos

There are strange and marvelous casinos in Las Vegas and the new Moon Hotel and Casino might be the oddest yet.

Las Vegas has the Eiffel Tower, the channels of Venice, the Statue of Freedom and the pyramids of Egypt. And now Sin City is on the verge of having the Moon!

Moon World Resorts casino developers plan to build an "authentic" lunar surface in the heart of Vegas, to go alongside the city's other strange and marvelous attractions.

The New York Post says that the Moon will land in Vegas in 2027 and have a huge casino and hotel complex to compete with those already built alongside the band. Visitors can then take a shuttle lift towards the lunar surface, where they can climb lunar buggies and jump over craters.

Canadian contractor Michael Henderson is at the helm of the $5 billion project and recently said ; " Without a doubt, when guests venture to the surface of the moon, for the first time in their lives, they will believe they are on the moon. "

The planned expansion is part of a broader strategy to plant lunar hotels and casinos in China, Spain and the Middle East as well. Visitors can walk on the lunar surface for 90 minutes with a $500 ticket, and can also stay in the 4,000-room complex.

Moon has not yet obtained full financing, but we are optimistic about the launch of this project. And it's sure to become one of the strangest and most amazing places in Vegas, if construction gets the green light.

While the Las Vegas moon will certainly be on that list in the future, here are some of the strangest casinos in Vegas you can actually visit.

Venetian Resort

The Venetian complex of Las Vegas is a small slice of classic Italy hollowed out in the Nevadan desert. Featuring Renaissance-inspired gondolas, canals and buildings, it's actually a quirky Vegas classic and is one of the best casino models in the world. Tourists come more to take photos than to navigate the water, but the casino is worth the detour.

Luxor Casino and Hotel

Ten minutes south of Venice is... the Egyptians! The Luxor Hotel and Casino features the breathtaking pyramid of palm trees and Egyptian-style buildings scattered around the entrance. The Luxor opened in 1993 and has more than 4,400 guest rooms. The MMMs manage the casino, which lies in the pyramid behind the sphinx. The 2020 reports that the developers were going to demolish the Luxor did not yield results.

Paris in Las Vegas

On the east side of Las Vegas Boulevard and casting an all-powerful shadow over the passers-by below is the Eiffel Tower, which stands next to the Paris Las Vegas hotel and casino. This huge construction was built in 1999 and is approximately half the size of the true Eiffel Tower. It was an odd building like this one that helped rejuvenate Vegas by the turn of the millennium. Belonging to Caesars, you can get tickets to the patio of the Eiffel Tower of Vegas for only $25.

Excalibur Hotel and Casino

Feel like visiting DisneyLand without the kids? Afterwards, the quirky and enchanting Excalibur Hotel & Casino is the place to visit. This medieval themed casino has over 100,000 square feet of gaming area and is well known for its high quality casino room. Yes this is very gimmicky but it was last renovated in 2015 and houses some elite level games in the turrets.

New York Hotel and Casino

Along with Paris Las Vegas, New York-New York is one of Sin City's famous attractions. Where else besides Nevada can you find a replica of the Big Apple sky? The Statue of Liberty welcomes you in this completely strange casino and hotel, which also comprises the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. And guess what? MGM, which owns one of the world's most lucrative casinos, also owns this one!
